Vietnam Odyssey arranged an exceptional seven-day tour for me for first visit to the country. I had
a brilliant time and every element of the trip was well-organised, efficient and comfortable. I would have happily stayed longer and look forward to another tour with them.

We have recently backpacked through Cambodia and Vietnam.
My wife had lost her ticket to fly from Hanoi to Bangkok. Thai Airways in Hanoi were most unhelpful, when we tried to obtain a replacement ticket. First we had to wait in a queue for more than an hour, before being attended to. Then we were told that Thai Airways would not issue a replacement ticket, unless we had a written and stamped confirmation from the Police to the effect, that we had reported the loss of the ticket to them. After spending an entire afternoon at various police stations, we were finally told by the Police, that this was not a matter for them, that they would not and never had issued ‘lost ticket’ reports.
In desperation, we went to the Odyssey Company for help and were completely overwhelmed by their willingness to help us. Unlike other outfits we came across on our travels, Odyssey helped us, even though we did not want to book one of their tours with them, but simply wanted to make alternative arrangements to fly out of Hanoi. Other tour operators would have lost interest at that stage or would have told us to find another airline booking office. Not however Odyssey.
Odyssey’s staff spent a lot of time over two days, researching all alternatives, prices, departure times and dates available to us. One of Odyssey’s directors, Duyen Do, came especially to the office in Hanoi on the weekend, when other offices are normally shut, to help us with the ticketing arrangements.
Mr Duyen Do further took it upon himself, to settle a dispute over a Taxi fare, with the overcharged money being returned to us in full. As we had not asked Mr Duyen Do to do this for us, we figured that he did so to maintain the goodwill between international tourists and Vietnam Tourism in general. And had this been done in the course of a normal eight hour day, it would in itself, been highly recommendable, but it was not during the day. Mr Duyen Do personally settled the dispute at 23:00 hrs that night, which is quite extraordinary, given the fact that he had personally nothing to gain from it.
It is for the reasons above, that we can do nothing less than highly recommend the Odyssey Company to any back-packer, tourist or general traveler. We will forward a copy of this letter to the publishers of the ‘Lonely Planet’ guide books in the hope, that they will recommend the Odyssey Company in their next issue on Vietnam.
To back-packers and tourists alike we can honestly say, that you will be in very good hands and very well looked after.
We wish the Odyssey Company all the best in the future.
With our deepest respect

Thank you to the Odyssey Company in Vietnam for a memorable trip to Halong Bay. We had so much fun and met so many wonderful people as well as learning about Vietnam's customs and culture from our exceptional guide. We will be back again someday!

Having recently completed two trips with Odyssey. We were left very impressed with the quality and level of service provided. Our first trip was an over night train from Hanoi to Hue where we stayed for 2 nights. Following this, we travelled to Da Nang and finally 3 days in Hoi An. We had a fantastic time and thanks to Odyssey the trip went smoothly. Our final trip was 4 nights in Cambodia, staying in Siem Reap and visiting the temples of Angkor Wat. Our tour guide was first rate, the airport transfers on time and reliable, the hotel excellent. All we had to do was relax and enjoy the trip! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Odyssey to anyone.

The best thing to have happened on our recent trip to Vietnam was to be placed in the care of VIETNAM ODYSSEY and its able leader, Duyen Van Do (
www.vietnamodyssey.com). This professional and courteous tour company arranged not only to take us to our selected destinations in the north of Vietnam (Ha Long Bay, Cat Ba Island), but also included other interesting venues about which we were not acquainted, making our sojourn in the north that much more productive and fulfilling. Mr. Do even came to our hotel in Hanoi to meet us and to make sure we were well taken care of by our personal guide (we were) and to ask if there was anything else he could do for us. This level of courtesy and professionalism is rare in today's world!

Thank you, Odyssey for the terrific trip you provided our group in spring, 2007. Our group was diverse and had many special needs and your people met them all. Our nine person group wanted to take pictures, meet people, experience the culture of Viet Nam, and see sights. I appreciate how you customized our three week trip to accommodate all those interests. Your guides took us to some great sites for our photographers. They also stopped everywhere we asked for more pictures or to meet people. You selected side trips with lots of history and interesting people to meet. I liked that we got to meet three guides, each with a little different expertise but it gave us the chance to get to know three more friends in your country. We enjoyed the entire trip, from the inexpensive but very nice hotels, to the up country, to the country people, to the city sights and city people. Thank you for everything!

We will never forget the amazing tour you gave to our family in Hanoi, followed by the excursion to Halong Bay, Dien Bien Phu, and Sapa in January of this year (2007). Your country is incredibly beautiful, but even more than that, we were provided with the most courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable guides we could have asked for. We recently gave a presentation of our photos, music, and memories of this life-changing trip to Vietnam and assured the 35 people who attended that they could not find a better tour company than Vietnam Odyssey. You truly lived up to your motto "Higher in life". Our lives have been enriched forever by your care, consideration, and expert services.

Vietnam Odyssey recently took care of all of our arrangements for a trip to North Vietnam in January, 2007. I wanted to thank you and your staff for doing a tremendous job for us in all areas: Transportation, hotel accommodations, tours, schedule coordination and, most importantly, providing an opportunity for us to meet the beautiful people of your country. I would not hesitate to recommend Vietnam Odyssey to others for a well-organized and truly memorable visit to your wonderful Pacific Rim nation!
