Developed as a port city in the 1700’s, Hoi An has maintained remarkalbe remnants of former life along the Thu Bon river. Cargo was unloaded from the Japanese, Portuguese, Dutch, French, and Chinese vessels. Beautiful homes, family chapels, bridges, wells, and tombs line the streets. Temples and pagodas with an average age of 200 years have been carefully maintained close to their original form.

Shops selling artwork and souvenir statue abound. Almost anything can be found at the market place along the river. Tourists leisurely shop for beautiful silks to have quality clothing tailor made for every reasonable prices.
Boats are always available for hire along the waterside, in which to relax and float in imagination into the bustling life of earlier years to be made into quality clothing by local tailors at reasonable prices.
It is hard to leave this quiet and captivating haven of another era.
