Cat Ba National Park

This island park, established in 1986, covers more than half of the main island, and includes several smaller islands. Including both terrestrial and marine ecosystems. Its main importance is in biodiversity conservation. Many unusual plant and animal species make their habitat here

With a low human population, the diversity was formerly protected. But since the 1980's population has been increasing and turning land toward agriculture, thus threatening habitat loss for many species. Lack of funds make protection for them national challenge.

Cat Ba National Park has been a destination for travelers from not only Vietnam but also from around the globe to explore this rich and varied habitat. Traditional food, including seafood, is fresh, delicious, and ready to be served.
